How is natural movement different from other types of training?

Being truly functional means being a good all-rounder; an expert generalist with a broad range of skills whose ready for anything.
Natural Movement helps us become capable and resilient through the progressive development of a wide variety of adaptive skills, as well as using the environment around us to create challenges with a depth and complexity that could not be recreated in a gym.

What type of results can i expect?

A body and mind that are able to deal with whatever life throws at you. I develop the capacity in you to overcome mental obstacles as well as physical ones; to think, act and adjust to a world that is inherently unpredictable.

I've never done anything like this before; Am I too old or unfit?

Until you’re six feet under, it’s never too late to start. I meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to go. With realistic goals and progressive training, never underestimate what you’re capable of.

do we train outside or inside?

I prefer to run sessions outside as it provides the most benefit seeing as, on average, 90% of our lives are spent indoors.

What about the weather?

If the weather is particularly atrocious we can postpone the session or find a sheltered spot, however we’re made of stern stuff so that rarely happens.

What should I wear?

Anything that doesn’t limit your range of motion. Don’t wear your most precious gym-wear because you won’t be too pleased when it gets dirty. Knowing what the English weather is like, it may be worth bringing an extra pair of dry clothes in case the heavens open.

What is a Movement Screen?

It is a set of seven tests that look simple but require good flexibility and control and are dynamic instead of static; each test isolates a different area of the body to prevent you from compensating and hiding weaknesses. This knowledge helps improve overall sports performance as well as being an excellent injury prevention tool.

What is your experience?

I'm a multi-disciplinary performer and athlete and I've competed nationally in both climbing and Ninja Warrior as well as being a qualified parkour coach and Level 3 Personal Trainer. I also perform and choreograph in parkour, acrobatics and dance performances. My focus is on developing my knowledge and sharing the research of how we can minimise the damage caused by our modern sedentary lifestyles by utilising ancestral methods and techniques. Where do sessions take place?

I'm based in Greater Manchester and I do home visits in special circumstances. A different rate per session will apply. Please contact me directly for costs and booking.
